Three Medieval Women in Berry to Celebrate Mint Tea for Peace

A journey to the heart of history and cultures, with Maison NANA1807

In a world that rushes by, that sometimes forgets to stop, there are rare moments when time stands still. Moments when history, cultures, and the actions of yesterday and today come together to remind us of what is essential: sharing, harmony, beauty, and peace.

In Berry, the beating heart of France, a cradle of traditions, nature, and heritage, three unmissable medieval events are about to write a new page of conviviality and encounters. And this page, Maison NANA1807 invites you to experience it together, around this universal symbol of hospitality and fraternity: a Mint Tea for Peace.

The Art & Culture of Tea according to Maison NANA1807

Maison NANA1807 is much more than a tea house. It is a universe, an art of living, an invitation to travel and to meet cultures . Each cup of Mint Tea that we prepare, each ceremony that we organize is designed as a bridge between peoples, between eras, between hearts.

In our Mint Tea Café NANA1807, located in Mehun-sur-Yèvre, in the heart of Berry, we generously offer our Mint Tea Ceremony for Peace every Friday at 4:30 p.m. A meeting that has become emblematic for all those who wish to meet, exchange, and meditate on the essentials around a fragrant and comforting cup.

Today, this commitment to peace and encounter extends beyond the walls, through the medieval festivals that bring the most beautiful historical sites in the region to life.

Three places | Three stories | One thirst for humanity

The Priory of Allichamps | See you on May 17, 2025

Located in Bruère-Allichamps, in the geographic center of France, the Priory of Allichamps is a gem of history and spirituality. Occupied since the Paleolithic period, transformed into a Gallo-Roman villa, an oratory, and then a church, it has endured through the ages with humility.

Listed as a Historic Monument, this priory is one of Berry's treasures, alongside Noirlac Abbey and the milestone marking the center of France.

On May 17, 2025, during the medieval market, Maison NANA1807 invites you to discover a Mint Tea for Peace, in the shade of the thousand-year-old stones. A suspended moment, a sip of history and serenity, to meditate on what this place whispers to us: the importance of preserving, transmitting, connecting past and future in a single surge of hope.

Villemenard Castle | See you on June 28 & 29, 2025

On the edge of the Yèvre marshes, Villemenard Castle stands, a testament to centuries past. Its origins may date back to the Gallo-Roman era. From the 13th-century Villa Menardi to the fortified quadrangle of the 15th and 16th centuries, the castle has undergone transformations, fortifications, and embellishments.

For thirty years, Robert Leloup and his wife Régine have been passionately restoring this jewel of Berry, which has become a mecca for artistic encounters and cultural events.

On June 28 and 29, 2025, in the setting of this historic estate, we will share a Mint Tea , a simple but powerful gesture that connects yesterday and today. Where men have built walls, we will build bridges, where centuries have marked the stone, we will place a drop of light and peace.

Sagonne Castle | See you on July 19 & 20, 2025

Built between the 12th and 15th centuries, the Château de Sagonne, a historic monument, imposes its majestic silhouette in the heart of a picturesque medieval village. Owned by Jules Hardouin-Mansart, architect of the Palace of Versailles, it embodies the excellence of French art and heritage.

Every summer, the Sagonne Season attracts a loyal audience for concerts, shows and exhibitions in an enchanting setting.

On July 19 and 20, 2025, Maison NANA1807 will bring its touch of poetry and fraternity. Over a Mint Tea for Peace, we will open the doors to travel, discovery, and dialogue. Because beneath the ancient vaults, beyond the stones, there has always been the same desire: to unite, to dream, to build a peaceful future together.

Maison NANA1807 | a Moroccan way of life in the heart of Berry

In each of these events, you will be welcomed into the refined and warm world of Maison NANA1807 , imagined and created by Atelier de l'Olivier , master of art in exceptional decoration.

Through our decor, our objects, our gestures, we will transport you to the heart of the Moroccan art of living : hospitality, elegance, attention to detail, sense of sharing. Each cup of Mint Tea thus becomes an open door to elsewhere, an invitation to feel and to marvel.

Why is Mint Tea a Universal Symbol of Peace and Friendliness?

Mint tea is more than a drink. It is a ritual, an attention, an outstretched hand. In the Maghreb countries, it accompanies every important moment, every encounter, every reconciliation. It says: "You are welcome" , "Sit down, take your time" , "Here, we share" .

By bringing this gesture to the heart of the medieval festivals of Berry, Maison NANA1807 reminds us that, from Salé to Mehun-sur-Yèvre, from Figuig to Sagonne, the values of respect, diversity and fraternity are universal and timeless.
