The magic of giving

Meditation around Mint Tea

A Generous Mint Tea

At Maison NANA1807, we believe that everything given to us is granted to us by God Alone and the Unique. Therefore, nothing belongs to us. We are only temporary stewards of His blessings and we must use them in the best way possible, as God wills.

"O Prophet, tell them:" Verily, my Lord enlarges and restricts sustenance to those of His servants as He pleases. Whatever you spend generously He replaces you: for He is the Best of those who provide sustenance. "" (Quran 34:39)

The Prophet Muhammad, named “ Habib Allah ” (in Arabic: حبيب الله) literally the beloved of God, is a perfect example of generosity. He was sent to all mankind, to elevate morality and perfect our human values and ethics.

Generosity is giving freely, without expecting anything in return. Just like the hospitality around a Mint tea , which we generously offer to each of our visitors at Maison NANA1807 .

The Prophet used to give in such a beautiful way that the recipient accepted his donation with pleasure and honor. The Prophet felt uncomfortable keeping money or food at home at the end of each day without distributing them to those in need.

Charity or alms, also called Zakat or Sadaka in Arabic, is the third of the five pillars of Islam. Being charitable and caring for the weakest and the poor are essential aspects. Charity is so important that it comes right after the declaration of faith (shahada) and prayer (salat), the first two pillars of our faith.

Philanthropy and giving of self have a direct impact on the well-being of the individual and of society as a whole. They represent the noblest way to spend one's wealth.

This generous virtue is a quality of the soul that Allah gives to those whom He loves. Making the world a better place is a divine act. Just as generosity is a divine attribute. Out of love for a person, God Alone attributes to him this quality which pushes him to be generous. This distinction is essential for understanding Islam as a whole.

There are several notions of generosity in Islam. The most important are the Zakat (in Arabic: زَكَاة ) or compulsory alms, and the Sadaqa (in Arabic: صدقة ) literally the donation voluntary .

  • Zakat means purification, growth and blessing. In practical terms, Zakat is the mandatory redistribution of 2.5% of one's wealth, calculated on an annual basis.
  • Sadaqa means charity, in the broad sense the gift of oneself. This type of voluntary charity can be given to anyone, in different forms: advice, kindness, a smile, volunteering, removing an obstacle in the road, offering a Mint tea , ... etc.

The Magic of Gifting around Mint Tea

"Spending in charity is like the seed from which seven ears can grow, each bearing one hundred kernels. God multiplies the rewards to those whom He chooses. God is Munificent and Omniscient. ”(Quran 2: 261)

Indeed, wealth does not decrease by giving charity, but on the contrary, it thrives while purifying itself, increasing the Baraka (in Arabic بركة ) generous

Last but not least, charity must be given to please God, and in secret, not for special interests, prestige or reputation for altruism. This would directly harm the gift and deprive it of the blessings associated with it.

The edict of discretion is intended to protect the dignity and honor of the beneficiaries, which in itself is an act underlying the Sadaqa .

Islam being, above all, a religion of moderation and fairness, we should not give to the point of becoming in need ourselves. Reverence and kindness to oneself are imperative and essential, in order to preserve their balance in life.

Maison NANA1807 gives the best of its know-how - from wonderful Mint Teas - to the benefits of those who wish it: charities, solidarity associations, cultural and religious associations of all beliefs.
