Medieval Festival at Château de Dame
When History, Peace and Mint Tea Come to Berry
Deep in Berry, where the hills undulate and every stone preserves the memory of past centuries, the Château de Dame in Saint-Éloy-de-Gy is preparing to become the scene of a great medieval festival.
On September 13 and 14, 2025 , the La Maëstrie du Berry association is organizing the first edition of this historic and festive event. Between reenactments, shows, a medieval market and activities for young and old, visitors will experience a total immersion in the world of the Middle Ages.
But this celebration will also be marked by a unique encounter: that of Berry heritage and the Moroccan art of living, brought together by Maison NANA1807 around its ritual of Mint Tea for Peace .

Mint Tea for Peace | A Universal Symbol
Offering Mint Tea is more than a gesture of conviviality: it is a thousand-year-old tradition that embodies hospitality, sharing and peace.
In Mehun-sur-Yèvre, in its Mint Tea Café , Maison NANA1807 perpetuates this ceremony every Friday at 4:30 p.m. , offered to all, like a moment suspended outside the tumult of the world.
In Saint-Éloy-de-Gy, this ritual will find a particular resonance. In the heart of the medieval encampment, the Mint Tea for Peace ceremony will be celebrated to unite past and present, memory and future, history and humanity. It will also be an opportunity to preview the new collection of Organic Teas Made in Berry , a local creation that combines authenticity and innovation.

Château de Dame | Keeper of Stories
Built at the end of the 14th century by the du Puy family, including Geoffroy du Puy known as Morin , chamberlain to Duke Jean de Berry, the Château de Dame is a place steeped in memory.
It was a refuge in 1562 for the Benedictines of Bourges during the Wars of Religion, then the scene of clashes in 1591, attacked by Antoine de la Grange d'Arquien, governor of Berry.
Its lord at the time, Raymond de Castaing , benefactor of the parish, left his mark there, resting since in the church of Saint-Éloy-de-Gy.
Even today, the castle's stones whisper these stories of faith, struggle, and resilience. It is in this majestic yet intimate setting that the medieval festival will take place, offering visitors a journey through time where history meets current events in a gesture of peace.

A Total Immersion in the Middle Ages
The Château de Dame will be transformed into a living medieval camp, where every detail transports visitors several centuries back in time.
On the program:
- Medieval Market : artisans and designers will revive ancient skills through jewelry, leather, textiles and period objects.
- Medieval Combat & Martial Arts : spectacular clashes between armored knights.
- Mint Tea Ceremony for Peace : a powerful moment, shared with Maison NANA1807 , to connect history and fraternity.
