RITUAL & SECRETS OF MINT TEA
Ritual of purification
Giving and sharing Mint Tea is an act of hospitality and brings many benefits such as spiritual, religious, and social.
In Moroccan and Muslim tradition, each act of offering is preceded by a purification ritual - "Woudhoû" (Arabic: الوضوء, al-wuḍūʼ).
This ritual is an essential element of good hygiene and health protection practice in the current context of Covid.
Here are some benefits of this daily practice, which we carry out before each service:
- Regularly washing your hands, face and feet helps prevent germs in the body and thus promotes good health.
- Woudhoû helps relax the nervous system and relieves tension, stress and anxiety.
- Gargling during Woudhoû helps to remove germs, allergens and dust particles.
- Gargling with cool water reduces the risk of colds to a greater extent, which contributes to health and hygiene. Gargling also reduces viral respiratory infections. Gargling also ensures the reduction of bad breath.
- Washing the nose removes dust, allergens and contaminated material. It thus helps to minimize infections such as flu, sinusitis, colds and lung infections.
- Facial washing refreshes and improves the complexion of the face. It also reduces the impact of oily skin and retards the growth of acne, pimples, wrinkles and other spots on the face.
- Cleaning the ears with wet fingers removes dust and germs from the outer ear area.
- Washing your feet cleans dirt and removes fungus. As in traditional medicine, it acts like acupressure as your fingers pass through the lower toe area.
- Rubbing the toes with the fingers is also good for diabetes and relieves pain in the body.
- Since many acupressure points are present in the upper and lower parts of the toe regions, tonic stimulation relieves aches and pains such as back pain, arthritis joint pain, etc.
