Creation Saturdays | Special Remembrance and Solidarity Day
Between Creation, Solidarity and Transmission in Mehun-sur-Yèvre
On September 6, 1944, Bourges regained its freedom in an explosion of joy. Nearly 80 years later, this anniversary remains a moment of celebration, but also of introspection, a reminder of collective memory. On the other side of the Mediterranean, on September 8, 2023, Morocco was struck by a terrible earthquake that devastated the south of the country, causing nearly 3,000 victims and reducing mountain villages to ruins. These two events, so far apart in time and space, come together today in a surge of solidarity and transmission at the initiative of Maison NANA1807 and Atelier de l'Olivier.
These two institutions are joining forces for a cultural and festive day around the Crafts and Mintéalogie, on September 7 in Mehun-sur-Yèvre. On the program, a celebration of friendship and solidarity with a series of events within the framework of "Des Samedis de la Création" . The day will begin at 10:00 a.m. with an exhibition of Crafts in the Galerie de l'Atelier de l'Olivier, where you can discover new creations by passionate artisans.
A Mint Tea for Peace
At 5:00 p.m. , the day will take a more introspective turn with a Mintéalogie session, a moment to share and reflect on this unique concept combining science, history and the art of mint tea . This meditative break will be followed by a Mint Tea for Peace , a symbolic gesture to honor the memory and resilience of the populations affected by the Moroccan earthquake, and to celebrate Peace in our countries preserved for 80 years.
One of the flagship projects of Maison NANA1807 is to register Mint Tea as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This project demonstrates the importance of this ancestral cultural ritual, a vector of conviviality and peace between peoples. This event will be an opportunity to discover this approach and support this great initiative.
The retrospective of the situation of the Berber villages of southern Morocco one year after the disaster will be presented by Marie and Zakaria , founders of the Atelier de l'Olivier and the Maison NANA1807. They will look back on the solidarity actions carried out throughout the year, particularly in favor of the Berber communities, for which humanitarian initiatives are still underway.
A Generous Giant Couscous
The day will end in a friendly atmosphere around a giant couscous , prepared by Omar Habbal , Benefactor Member of the NGO We Speak Citizen and Associate Partner of the Maison NANA1807 | La Maison du Thé à la Menthe BIO . This festive moment is a wonderful invitation to "Mint Tea Lovers" to come together for the pleasure of sharing values of respect for diversity and preservation of biodiversity.
This event is a unique opportunity to remember, learn and contribute to a better world. We look forward to seeing many of you to celebrate memory and solidarity while discovering talented artisans and supporting a just cause.
