Institute of Mintéalogy®

The European School of Mint Tea Science and Art

Understanding, Transmitting, and Elevating the Culture of Mint Tea.

The Institute of Mintealogy is the School of Mint Tea founded by Maison NANA1807 to study, transmit, and celebrate mint tea culture as a living heritage.

A unique discipline in the world, born in the heart of Morocco, refined in Berry.

Designed as a place for cultural transmission and exploration, the Institute offers experiences, workshops, and seminars dedicated to Mintealogy, the science and art of mint tea.

Through this approach, the Institute invites individuals and businesses to discover mint tea as a true culture, at the crossroads of history, botany, sensory experience, and hospitality traditions.

At the heart of this teaching is Mintealogy®, a discipline founded by Maison NANA1807 to structure the study of mint tea and contribute to its recognition as an element of cultural heritage.

This discipline explores the plants, preparation techniques, know-how, history, and rituals that make up the world of mint tea and the art of sharing that accompanies it.

This vision is realized through the programs and transmissions offered by the Institute.

First Cohort of the Institute of Mintealogy

The Institute of Mintealogy announces the opening of its first cohort in 2026, marking a milestone in the structuring and transmission of Mintealogy, the science and art of mint tea.

This pioneering initiative extends work undertaken by Maison NANA1807 since 2022, through conferences and workshops conducted notably at UNESCO, as well as with international companies and European universities.

These exchanges laid the groundwork for a new approach to mint tea, at the intersection of history, botany, sensory experience, and intercultural dialogue.

The Institute of Mintealogy aims to make mint tea a subject of study and transmission, bringing together cultural knowledge, artisanal practices, and contemporary reflection around this millennial tradition.

The first cohort will welcome participants eager to explore this emerging discipline and contribute to the dissemination of mint tea culture in a spirit of openness and sharing between cultures.

Founding Definition of Mintealogy®

Mintealogy®, a term introduced by Maison NANA1807, refers to the science and art of mint tea. It is a transversal discipline that studies the historical, botanical, sensory, cultural, and philosophical dimensions of this millennial tradition.

Through the Institute of Mintealogy, Maison NANA1807 aims to structure and transmit this heritage by offering an approach to mint tea that is rigorous, sensitive, and deeply human.

This approach seeks to recognize mint tea as a cultural expression in its own right, carrying know-how, aesthetic codes, and universal values related to hospitality and sharing.

The Five Pillars of Mintealogy®

Mintealogy is based on a structured approach to understanding mint tea in all its richness. The Institute of Mintealogy thus organizes its research and transmissions around five fundamental pillars:

Botany and Origin of Ingredients

Understanding mint tea begins with knowledge of living things. This pillar explores tea varieties, mint species, and aromatic plants, as well as their terroirs, cultivation methods, and natural properties.

History and Civilization of Mint Tea

Mint tea is a cultural heritage stemming from the great exchange routes between civilizations. This pillar studies its historical evolution and its roots in traditions, particularly Moroccan, where it has become a major symbol of hospitality.

Art of Gesture and Mastery of Ceremony

The preparation of mint tea is an art of precision and attention. This pillar transmits the mastery of gestures, the balance of flavors, and the aesthetics of service that characterize the Moroccan tea ceremony.

Sensory Science and Culture of Taste

Mintealogy develops a fine understanding of sensory perceptions: aromas, textures, temperatures, and taste balances. It educates the palate and deepens the mint tea experience.

Philosophy of Hospitality

Beyond the beverage, mint tea is a social language. This pillar explores the values of welcome, respect, and generosity that make sharing tea a universal cultural act.
