Summary
A presence that is part of a continuum
Maison NANA1807's participation in International Tea Day is not merely an event. It is part of a broader effort to raise awareness of the cultural, historical, and human dimensions associated with Atāy.
At the invitation of the Permanent Delegation of the Kingdom of Morocco to UNESCO, Zakaria NANA will speak during the official evening event from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, following speeches by two Ambassadors representing the participating countries.
This contribution will allow him to share with guests a reflection on the place of tea in hospitality traditions, cultural transmission practices, and relations between peoples.
The memory of the Culinary Diplomacy Encounters
This presence at UNESCO extends a history already in motion.
In October 2022, Maison NANA1807 was invited to participate in the Culinary Diplomacy Encounters held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
During two days of exhibition and tasting, the Maison presented its cultural universe around Atāy and shared its vision of tea as a vector of dialogue and rapprochement between cultures.
This experience also offered Zakaria NANA the honor of meeting Ms. Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, in a context dedicated to the valorization of food heritage and cultural traditions of the world.

“Moroccan Atāy: Hospitality, Transmission, and Cultural Dialogue”
During this international evening, Maison NANA1807 will offer a short presentation on Moroccan Atāy and its place in social and cultural life.
Much more than a drink, Atāy is a true language of hospitality. It accompanies moments of conviviality, family exchanges, professional meetings, and celebrations that punctuate daily life.
Through the gestures of preparation, the serving of tea, and the time given to others, values of respect, generosity, listening, and sharing are transmitted across generations.
This conference will be an opportunity to recall how much tea traditions can contribute to intercultural dialogue and a better mutual understanding between peoples.
Mintheology® in the service of cultural dialogue
This presentation will draw on the work of Mintheology®, defined by Maison NANA1807 as the science and art of Mint Tea.
Mintheology® explores the history of tea, the cultural routes that favored its spread, the know-how related to its preparation, and the social benefits associated with the ritual of sharing.

With the Eiffel Tower in the background, this space dedicated to life reminds us how much the preservation of biodiversity and the transmission of cultural heritage contribute to building lasting dialogue between peoples. A vision that fully resonates with the work of Mintheology® and Maison NANA1807's commitment to a tea culture that is meaningful, respectful, and peaceful.
Through this approach, Maison NANA1807 helps to better understand how a simple cup of tea can become a tool for cultural transmission, dialogue, and rapprochement between people.
This vision naturally finds its place in an environment such as UNESCO, whose mission is based on the promotion of cultural diversity, education, and peace.
A tasting at the Kingdom of Morocco's stand
Following the official presentations, participants will be invited to discover a selection of Maison NANA1807's emblematic creations at the Kingdom of Morocco's tasting area.
This experience will extend the discussions around a convivial tasting and introduce different contemporary expressions of Mint Tea developed by the Maison.
Each tasting will illustrate how tradition, creativity, and transmission can dialogue in a single cup.
A long-term vision
For Maison NANA1807, this invitation represents more than participation in an international event.
It confirms the relevance of work undertaken over several years to recognize Atāy as a living heritage carrying universal values of hospitality, dialogue, and transmission.
Through its Mintheology® | Cultural Diplomacy initiatives, the Maison pursues a simple ambition: to help build bridges between cultures by relying on one of the most universal gestures there is, that of sharing a cup of tea.
Maison NANA1807 extends its sincere thanks to the Permanent Delegation of the Kingdom of Morocco to UNESCO for its trust and its invitation to contribute to this international celebration.
